100 WWC Beaufort – Back Live!

On April 12, 2022 we had our first in-person meeting since 2020. We welcomed 24 new members and heard three inspiring presentations. Thumbs Up, Inc. was our chosen recipient for this quarter.

Carol Ruff of the Foundation for Educational Excellence was our first presenter of the evening.
Jeneane Ryan presented for Hopeful Horizons.
Judy Myers nominated Thumbs Up, Inc. which received the 100WWC Beaufort quarterly contributions.

Family Promise

We were so pleased to award $11,400 to Family Promise of Beaufort, our fourth quarter recipient of 2021. This organization strives to provide temporary shelter, family stability, and permanent housing solutions for homeless families with children.

Under One Roof

Our third-quarter recipient, Under One Roof, received $10,900 from us. This brings our grand total to $349,900. Under One Roof has a goal to help at least 15 low-income senior homeowners stay in their homes with repairs and modifications done by Under One Roof.

Dragon Boat Beaufort

Our April recipient, Dragon Boat Beaufort, received $11,300 for their cancer patients’ wellness program. This all-volunteer organization had to cancel their popular Dragon Boat Festival in 2020 due to COVID-19 and now needs funds to help supplement financial support for vetted cancer patients.

HELP of Beaufort

On December 7th, 2020 a group met at HELP of Beaufort to present them with $11,500. Since February, their number of applicants has increased by 50%! This year they are in a new building on Ribault and have found this to be a blessing. Only cash donations and grants fund this all-encompassing organization.

The Extra Mile Club

On a socially distanced afternoon on the waterfront, we were happy to present The Extra Mile Club with $12,100. This organization provides opportunities for youths, such as mentoring and tutoring. They also encourage service projects and strength training for participants. They will use the funds for operational expenses and travel.

The Lions Club of Beaufort

What an inspiring evening we had with the Beaufort Lions Club! We presented them with checks totaling $12,600. They will be using this money to screen children not only for sight but also for hearing. We also heard a wonderful speech from a woman who had received glasses from The Lions Club and heard about how amazing her world is now that she can see.
